OMG...

This is a wonderful and super insightful article. Like you, I am fascinated by a lot of what AI can do, but not interested in the artifacts created by it and assumed to be 'art'.

I have been asking this question for nearly two years now: "What am I supposed to see or feel when I see an image generated by AI?"

Like your question... 'what is the point', I ask 'what is it you are showing me?" What am I supposed to see, or think, about something produced in MidJourney? I can honestly say I have no idea.

I have always equated the term art as something created by a human for other humans. Maybe I am wrong, but there has to be more than the artifact created to be art.

This is the best thing I have read all month.
