My big cruiser has road tires, and although they say they are all weather, the rain can sometimes trick them up. But I can handle the rain fairly well - although I prefer dry roads and dry jeans.
But snow... SNOW is a different animal altogether. It is like tiny gravel on a freshly waxed surface and the bike can occasionally just lose its grip.
I ran into snow at the top of Loveland Pass and although the weather app said it was possible, it was coming down so hard visibility was scarce. I had to decide to either ride it out, or spend the night. There really wasn't an option so I skidded, slid, screamed, and otherwise made it down to the rain... which was so much better... heh.
