At the time I became a photographer, there were hundreds of colleges and universities with photo programs, as well as dozens of private schools focused on photography. Art Center, Hallmark, and Brooks being the major players.

I didn't attend those schools, and that is what I meant. But, yes, photography, like all art, is built individually from a starting point of some kind.

Mine was the street, not the classroom.
