It’s for fun and the love of the analog image.

Every year, I do a little thing I call 24 Frames in May.

It is for fun, not money, but we do have a few prizes for adjudicated winners.

Yeah, I have a few judges lined up for it.

Here’s the blurb from the site:

Welcome to “24 Frames in May” — a celebration of the art of analog photography!

We are thrilled to have you join us in this one-of-a-kind event, where participants are invited to embrace the charm of film and capture life’s fleeting moments with a roll of 24-image film. This is your chance to reignite your passion for analog photography or discover the magic of this classic medium for the first time.

Black and white, color, infrared… no matter. Whatever you like to shoot is fine.

As you embark on this creative journey, remember that each frame is precious. With only 24 opportunities to capture the world around you, take a moment to consider the story you want to tell and the emotions you wish to convey. Let this limitation be the catalyst for your creativity, and let each click of the shutter be a testament to your artistic vision.

At the end of the event, our esteemed panel of judges will carefully evaluate your work, awarding prizes to the top 3 winners. Prepare to have your work displayed in a curated show on Don Giannatti.com, Lighting Essentials, Facebook, Medium, and Substack, where your images will be seen by a global audience, and your talent recognized and celebrated.

So, dust off your favorite analog camera, load it up with film, and let the adventure begin! We can’t wait to see the captivating stories you’ll tell and the beautiful moments you’ll immortalize through your camera lens.

NOTE:
Some photographers have spaced out the image-making to one frame per day or so, others to a single project. However you want to approach it, it is fine.

You will be asked to enter a contact sheet (scanned or created with Photoshop Contact Sheet II), and your favorite four images.

There is a lot more info on this page.

No entry fee.
No CC.
No signup.
No copyright grab or other BS.

Just bookmark the page and follow along.

I will make the uploader available on June 1, and you will have until June 16 to upload your work.

Have fun!
